Welcome my loves to An Inquisitive Mind – Illumination through Christ.

I can’t believe we are now in the 6th month of the year, almost halfway in but I am very grateful. I can see that the Lord has done so many beautiful things thus far and shall bless us with many more things to come.

The process.

In this current space I am in I have been reflecting alot on ‘process’ and my ideals regarding the in-between. This filling me up with questions such as who, what, why, when and how?

I also then came across the song ‘Delay’ by Theophilus Sunday (blessed man of God) and started crying till the point I had streams of tears running down my face. This being as I was reflecting on the mercy of God, and how there have been so many times I have tried to enforce MY wants of how the ‘process’ should go and came to realise the things that didn’t go my way is an answered prayer in itself.

I was then also reminded of Isaiah 64:8 which states in the Contemporary English version ‘You, Lord, are Our Father. We are nothing but clay, but you are the potter who moulded us’.

In bold it was highlighted to me that –

you and I…we are nothing but clay and He – The Lord is the Potter.

This then means in the ups and downs we are then being moulded, shaped and stretched into whatever He desires of us.

This being just like clay is in the hand of it’s creator.

The refining.

The process of becoming can feel very hard. This being from the moulding to the breaking and the stretching BUT these are all necessary parts of our transformation , so as to purify and refine us.

Yes, each step can be scary, overwhelming and even exposing BUT what right does the clay have to question the potter?

Let me rephrase, what right do we have to question the Lord our God – the Creator who makes no mistakes? (Romans 9:20-21).

We are called to lean on Him and trust He will lead us along the right path (Proverbs 3:5-6).

A change of perspective.

I then realised it was about time I changed my perspective and instead of seeing the ‘process’ as a punishment I can see it as the Lord being merciful. This being as He is using us in the way He see’s fit to so as to make us complete, steady, strong and firm (1 Peter 5:10).

I appreciate that when we go through trials and the complexities of life this can be discouraging but as scripture says in Isaiah 43:2 (CEV) we need not worry. This being as God is with us and we won’t be burned or scorched by the fire of the issues we face.

We can be encouraged that there is nothing that is ever truly a waste in our lives, we can be assured that whatever happens – it can all be used to bring God glory.

We must be willing to be used.

With this same message, I believe God is also highlighting the importance of being a willing vessel, and having a heart surrendered unto Him. This of which then allows us to lay our guard down and thus become teachable to the things He is trying to show us.

For He will lead us and remain with us in the way everlasting (Deuteronomy 31:8).

Remember we are being prepped and protected – even when it may not feel like it. For He can use it all to build us up, for there is safety found in Him and we can rest in this confidence (Psalms 4:8 and 1 Samuel 2:2).

Let’s Pray

Father Lord, I thank you that I am but clay and you are the potter which means as my father, I am safe in your hands. I thank you for moulding me as you see fit and I pray that you will create in me something beautiful. Also, removing everything in me that does not reflect you well. Please help me in the becoming to be more like you to also endure the process and remain patient and assured all is well.

Amen x

Delay by Theophilus Sunday as referenced.
