I recently finished studying the Book of Acts and I asked myself – Do you care enough? How much do you actually care about the salvation of your fellow brothers and sisters?

The more I read through – I realised it is no where near what it should be.

Teach others.

In Colossians 3:16 (Contemporary English Version) we can see that we are called to allow the gospel to fill our lives and let it transform us. Although, we are also called to use our learnings – knowledge and wisdom to also teach and instruct each other. As we are encouraged by the word of God we should also sharpen each other with this knowledge.

I always think – if my life has been transformed for the better because I heard about the word of God why would I withold this information from someone else?

Why would I block their healing?

God can use your story.

I observed that whilst Saul transformed to Paul, it is beautiful to see how much influence his ‘yes’ to God had on the increase of believers and enlargement of the church.

Paul was someone who initially detested Christians and attempted to hunt down believers and persecute them (Acts 22:4). Although, his story changed and he became more interested in ensuring he obeyed God by ensuring all came to the knowledge of the Lord (Acts 22:15).

In Acts 28:23 (CEV) we can see that Paul had developed his own ministry and through his consistency ‘many’ believers were edified. It is important to highlight that it notes from morning till late afternoon he spoke about God’s kingdom. In addition to this within the scripture his long travels were also detailed where he travelled to Jerusalem, Rome and other places. I can imagine it wouldn’t have been convenient – yet he did it so that others would be blessed.

It is bigger than us.

Paul was completely devoted to the Lord and committed to spreading the good news. This is seen through his transformation but also as noted in Acts 28:30-31 (CEV) at his own expense he rented a place for two years, welcoming all who came to him. Paul had demonstrated love as the Lord would have us do and continued to preach, proclaim and teach about the gospel.

Yes, it is important for us to know God for ourselves and develop a relationship with him but it is important that we spread the gospel with others.

In Acts 20:23-24 (CEV) we can see that Paul just wanted to obey the Lord and had a burden to follow through with doing the work of the Lord. This of which is to tell of the good news about God’s love, grace, peace, joy etc.

Through this it was reiterated to me that everyday is an opportunity to share the word with others, and actually take time in being proactive in the walk of my fellow brothers and sisters.

In doing so not only will we be blessed but other’s will be transformed also.

Let’s pray:

Father Lord, please help me to make it a priority to become more proactive in the salvation of my fellow brothers and sisters and the body of Christ at large.

I no longer want to be selfish…only thinking about myself but rather I want to be bold enough to encourage others in their walk. Let this not just be by my lips but by my deeds.

Please reveal to me the ways in which you want me to do so, and may I be effective in supporting them in their walk with you. Amen !
