Hello my Lovelies and Welcome back to An Inquisitive Mind – Illumination through Christ.

God can do anything.

In 1 Kings 17:17-24, we can see Elijah’s prayer having been answered by the Lord in respect of the woman’s son being brought back to life.

Elijah brought his grievances to the Lord in the secret place (18-20) an enquired of God for he knew where his help came from (21).

Following this, the Lord answered Elijah’s prayer and the boy started ‘breathing again’ (22). Although, there was the physical manifestation of the prayer having been answered, it is evident that this would have required an increase of faith.

However bold, delusional and/or unrealistic you may think this request may have been … the Lord still answered.

I can attest to the fact He is a covenant keeping God, who is still in the business of doing miracles, signs and wonders (Psalm 105:8). This we see in scripture of how He truly never fails and is able to do anything (Psalm 136:4 and Jeremiah 32:27).

Moving forward.

In Isaiah 43:19 (CEV) God had been speaking to the Israelites following some of the trials they had experienced BUT the same is said for us. This states : ‘I am creating something new. There it is! Do you see it? I have put roads in deserts, streams in thirsty lands’.

It is clear as mentioned that God wants to clear out the old and bring in the new for us, for He is a solution giver (Proverbs 3:6).

Although, in order for Him to do something new in our lives there has to be a willingness for this to happen. This being as it is too costly to settle with the past when our future is bright, using Lot’s wife as an example. In Genesis 19:26, we can she was turned into a pillar of salt due to her refusal to look ahead as she chose to turn back.

What was the reason?

This is where I believe we mess up sometimes (I included) which needs to change. There needs to be a letting go of the comfort of not wanting things to change and/or wanting to settle in past seasons that no longer serve us.

There is so much in store for us but you must ask yourself –

Do you want to move forward? and What do I need to surrender unto God?

We will be tested.

God is doing a new thing in and through us.

Although, it isn’t to say there will not be trials as mentioned in Isaiah 48:10 (CEV) ‘I tested you in hard times just as silver is refined in a heated furnace’.

This is a reminder that even though life may be hard, the fact we have breathe in our lungs is a signifier that there is still life within us – therefore we can have reason to hope.

In the same way a flower goes through it’s own processes’ before it blooms beautifully can act as a reminder as to the same processes being necessary for our growth too.

So, we need not worry because God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we can think, ask or imagine (1 Corinthians 2:9).

He is able to beautify our lives, and will do this in accordance to His plan and beautiful timing (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

Let us pray.

Father Lord, I thank you for you are a miracle worker and continue to do mind blowing things in my life and for those around me. Please help my unbelief in anyway I may have limited you and re-ignite a fire in me that transforms me into becoming intentional not just in words but in action.

Please help me to perceive the new things you are doing in my life so that I will not be tempted to look back but rather ahead. Amen.
